O artigo avalia e mensura o acúmulo da competência tecnológica em uma empresa da área de
automação para centros de distribuição, entre o período anterior ao processo de transferência de
tecnologia (1998-2001) e durante o processo de transferência de tecnologia (2002-2005). Assim,
baseado em um estudo de caso individual, o estudo identificou o mecanismo e estratégia de
transferência de tecnologia acordado entre a matriz e filial, as funções tecnológicas e atividades
desenvolvidas pelo receptor e, por fim, os fatores críticos presentes neste processo. O exame da
acumulação de competências tecnológicas foi realizado com base em uma estrutura analítica
existente na literatura. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que o esforço planejado, organizado,
controlado e contínuo para a geração e disseminação do conhecimento permitiu que a empresa
acelerasse o seu processo de acumulação de competências tecnológicas promovendo a conversão
deste saber do nível individual para o nível organizacional; além disso, permitiram também a
identificação de barreiras e facilitadores envolvidos neste processo.

Abstract
This article evaluates and measures the accumulation of technological competence in a company that
makes projects for warehouses, this study was done before the process of technology transfer (1998-
2001) and during this process (2002 -2005). Thus, based on a study of individual case, this work
identified the mechanism and strategy for technology transfer agreement between the matrix and
subsidiary, the technology functions and activities developed by the recipient and, finally, the critical
factors involved in this process. The examination of the accumulation of technological skills was
conducted based on a structure analytical existing in the literature. The results showed that the effort
planned, organized, controlled and continuous for the generation and dissemination of knowledge has
enabled the company to accelerate the process of accumulation of technological skills promoting the
conversion of this knowledge of the individual level to the organizational level, moreover, also enabled
the identification of barriers and facilitators involved in the process.
